Nelson T. Pinney died on Friday, June 14.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Pinney; father, Hubert Pinney; brothers: Lewis Pinney, Edmond Pinney and Norris Pinny; and son, Troy Pinney.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Shirley” Pinney; sisters: Calmeta Pinney and Isilma Brown; brothers: Carlton Pinney and Calvin Pinney Sr.; sisters-in-law, Novella Pinney and Darrette Pinney; daughter-in-law, Melissa Pinney; children: Shauna Bartlette, Joi Latoia Pinny, Nola Pinney and Sian “Abby” Pinney; sons: Leonardo Leopole Pinney, Reginald John Pinney, Ronald Pinney and Rodney James Pinney; great aunt, Mazie Pemberton; and nieces: Cordelia Brown, Shamella Brown, Charmain Julienne, Chasta Pinney, Sherina Pemberton, Wanda Brown, Marva, Schanel and Candice Pinney, and Eris Pinney.

He is also survived by nephews: Calvin Pinney Jr., Jamal, Jaled and Jafari; grandsons: Jordan Amezcua, Equany Richards, Deshawn Bartlette and Jermy Pinny; granddaughters: Katilyn Rose Aboytes, Trisha Pinney, Desiane Graves, Yasmine Graham and Aliyah Graham; and great-grand, Mei’lani Veloz.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration of the life of Nelson Pinney. The first viewing is at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Blyden Memorial Chapel, St. Thomas, with the homegoing service immediately after at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery.
