Moycess Donawald Dies at 84

Moycess Donawald

Moycess Donawald, also known as “Ché Ché,” of Estate Constitution Hill died on July 8. He was 84 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Teofilia Diaz; father, Miguel Donawald; son, Moises Edward Donawald; grandson, Misael Morales Jr.; sister, Margarita Encarnacion; brother, Miguel Angel Donawald; and nephews: Miguel Donawald and Antonio Carrion.

He is survived by his spouse, Maria Gonzalez Rivera; daughters: Nancy Ascencio Donawald, Jacquelyn Morales Donawald, Ann Marie Donawald and Damaris Nieves; sons: Alvin Moycess Donawald, Alex Moycess Donawald and Lumoses Donawald; grandchildren: Angelica Ascencio, Jennifer, Milton, Jesenia and Marc Anthony Morales, Julian Melendez, Jaimarie Torrens, Laisha Marie and Vanessa Donawald.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Qui’Shyla Richmond, Allison-Marie Fahie, Kai Ascencio, William Quiñones III, Isaiah and Miguel Milla, Jahlia and Jaquiro Harris, Amalia and Milton Morales Jr., Isabella and Jayden Morales, Symphony and Atticus Donawald; sisters: Teodora Simon and Maria Teresa Christian.

He is also survived by brothers: Enos Donawald, Jose Manuel Donawald and Antonio Carrion; nieces: Angeline Bryan, KiraLee Encarnacion, Yolanda Carrion, Teofilia Wright, Trametta Edward, Lynn, Miguelina and Iris Maria Donawald; nephews: Joseph, and Tyrus Donawald, Bobby Carrion, Jose Encarnacion, Ricardo Christian, Malcolm, John and Edmond Simon, and Cory Brunson;

Other survivors include daughter-in-law, Mitzy Donawald; sons-in-law: Angel Ascencio, Misael Morales and Johnny Nieves; brothers-in-law: Angel Christian, Nathaniel Simon and Jose Encarnacion; sisters-in-law: Jeanette Donawald, Rita Donawald, Maria Carraballo and Minerva Santiago; special friend, Benjamin Legrand; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at Iglesia de Pentecostal M.I. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
