Progress continues on the Fort Christian Parking Lot Renovations Project on St. Thomas.

DPW contractor — Grace Civil, LLC. — will begin milling the lot on Monday, March 10. Paving is scheduled to follow directly after. The contractor recently completed installing the new water lines and has completed 90 percent of the work on the water valve boxes for the Carnival booths.

The department asks all vehicle owners, including the Virgin Islands Police Department, to remove their vehicles by Sunday to ensure construction continues as scheduled. All pedestrians and cyclists are asked to refrain from crossing the construction site during this process.

To minimize the impact on motorists, DPW has coordinated with the Virgin Islands Police Department and the Virgin Islands Port Authority to provide alternative parking on the Veterans Drive waterfront apron for the duration of the project.

This project is scheduled to be completed by early April, ensuring the parking lot is ready for use ahead of the 2025 Carnival festivities.
