The V.I. Sixth Constitutional Convention’s Standing Committee on Government Structure will meet on St. John Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. in the Cleone Creque Legislative Hall. Convention organizers say the meeting is the committee’s ninth session.
Convention Secretary Imani Daniel said delegates have been at work since May, reviewing and proposing revisions to documents created by the 5th Constitutional Convention. “The actual work has been going on since March when the committee assignments were established,” the secretary said.
Of the six committees formed, there are four working committees — Gov’t Structure, Human Rights, Finance and Public Services, and Culture and Heritage. The remaining committees — Education and Public Information and the Executive Committee — have other responsibilities, Daniel said.
