Nov. 28, 2001 – Police arrested Earl Anthony Alexander Van Holten on Wednesday morning within hours of the fatal shooting of his brother, Nashuan Van Holten.
Earl Van Holten, 23, was charged with first-degree murder.
According to Police Major Crime Unit investigators, the shooting occurred during a domestic violence incident at No. 37 Prindsens Gade around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday.
A one-paragraph statement released by the Police Department did not provide the victim's age, the suspect's address or any information about the weapon used in the shooting. Bail information was unavailable; an advice-of-rights hearing has been set for 11 a.m. Thursday in Territorial Court.
The shooting is the 24th homicide in the territory this year; St. Thomas has recorded 13 and St. Croix, 11.
