CFVI Announces Second Annual Drury Fund Grants

Oct. 31, 2006 – Community Impact Grants from the Drury Fund are now available at the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands. Individuals and organizations working to implement innovative projects in the areas of public education, children's well being or youth sports on St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island are invited to apply, according to a press release from CFVI's President Dee Baecher-Brown.
Last year The Drury Fund, established at CFVI in 2003, assisted with programs for a youth steel pan orchestra, a Boy Scout Troop, a literacy program for inmates and their children, and English classes for parents of elementary school children.
Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded. Applications in which two or more organizations will collaborate on a project may request a grant of up to $10,000. Grant awards will not be made for travel or to support an organization's operating budget.
