Bureau of Internal Revenue Curtails Operations Temporarily

June 3, 2008 – The Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue has curtailed its operations at the main office of the St. Thomas district due to a malfunctioning air-conditioning system, according to a press release from Gizette L. Thomas, director of the BIR. Taxpayers are advised that the bureau is accepting cash and check payments on the 2nd floor of its office in Long Bay, near Mandela Circle. No credit card payments can be accepted at this time.
BIR apologizes for any inconvenience that this reduction in services at its main office may cause; the public will be advised when the bureau resumes normal operations.
