The Virgin Islands Cycling Federation will begin its competitive season today with a local favorite – the 13-mile East End Time Trial. In cycling a time trial is a race against the clock instead of racing side-by-side with fellow cyclists. Each cyclist is sent from the starting line at one-minute intervals, usually with the fastest cyclist starting last. All cyclists must wear helmets and shoes. Race-day registration will be open at 6:15 a.m. and will close at 6:45 a.m.
