The University of the Virgin Islands will host the first edition of the Andre and Edith Galiber Medical Lecture Series, which will focus on the coronavirus. “The COVID-19 Pandemic: Its Epidemiology, Pathology and Psychosocial Impact on Our VI Community” will be streamed live via the university’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. Lecture panelists will include: Dr. Esther Ellis, epidemiologist; Dara Hamilton, Ph.D., psychologist; and Dr. Tai Hunte-Caesar, infectious disease specialist. Dr. Noreen Michael, research director for the Caribbean Exploratory Research Center (CERC) at UVI, will serve as the lecture series moderator. The V.I. community is invited to login and learn more about COVID-19. The lecture series also serves as an opportunity for medical professionals to discuss pressing issues that affect the U.S.V.I. and the world.
