Parks and Recreation Committee Backs Bush-Track Bill

A Senate panel on Monday approved what lawmakers referred to as the “bush-track bill” which, if enacted into law, would set aside land for a makeshift horse racetrack.

Dodson James has been in the business of horse racing for more than 40 years. During Monday’s Rules and Judiciary Committee hearing he passionately expressed his dreams for what the industry could be in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Horse Racing Commission Chairmanship Still Under Dispute

V.I. May Require Businesses to Take Credit Cards

Senators on the Rules and Judiciary Committee started their Monday meeting with six bills on the agenda, and when it was over, all six had been forwarded on to the full Senate.
