FEIN SPEAKS AT SYNAGOGUE ON 'PURSUING JUSTICE'

Leonard Fein, one of the leading voices in Reform Judaism, will be guest speaker Friday, Feb. 12, at the St. Thomas Synagogue. His topic will be "Pursuing Justice — for God's Sake and Continuity."
Fein is a writer and teacher and since 1996 has been director of the Commission on Social Action of the Reform Jewish movement.
He founded Moment magazine in 1974 and was its editor and publisher until 1987. Moment is a leading independent magazine of Jewish issues.
He founded Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger in 1985. Mazon has become the Jewish community's principal vehicle for combatting world hunger.
In 1996 Fein founded the National Jewish Coalition for Literacy to mobilize 100,000 volunteer tutors for the Read America program.
Friday's synagogue service begins at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.
Fein also will speak at a 10 a.m. brunch on Sunday, Feb. 14, at Lillienfeld House on his involvement in the Religious Action Center of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. For information about the brunch or to make reservations, call 774-4312.
