TOYA ANDREW IS MISS V.I. SENIOR AMERICA 2000

Toya Andrew captured the Miss V.I. Senior America 2000 title Sunday night at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.
Andrew secured the title from a field of five contestants. She also won the titles of Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent.
Margarita Hodge was named first-runner up and Rita King was second runner-up.
Hodge won the evening wear segment. The other contestants included: Jayne Johannes and Ida Blyden.
The contestants were judged on their talent, ethnic dress and evening wear. During the evening segment the contestant was asked to describe their life philosophy.
Larry Benjamin and Elaine Freeman served as Masters of Ceremonies with Benjamin wooing the crowd with his rendition of "Impossible Dream."
Shanee' King also was a crowd pleaser as she played Stevie Wonder's "Lady in Red" on the steel pan.
Andrew succeeds Ida White, the 1999 Miss V.I. Senior America.
