OCEANSIDE PHARMACY IS THE NEWEST ON STX

St. Croix’s newest and most modern supermarket also has the newest and most modern pharmacy.
Oceanside Pharmacy opened in early January inside the brand new Plaza Extra supermarket in Estate Plessen and is ready to serve the island’s west end, said Pharmacist Barbara Hatlelid. Even though Hatlelid has been on St. Croix for 18 years and knows the pharmacy trade inside and out, she is accompanied by a pharmacist technician. That means no lines.
"We try to give very fast and courteous service at competitive prices," she said, adding that customers can wait for their prescriptions to be filled while shopping at the $4 million store. "There are no long lines, no waiting."
And while the pharmacy is stocked with most anything a customer could ask for, Hatlelid said she can special order any medication.
"I’m pretty well stocked," she said. "If not, I’ll try and get it for them."
Customers, or their doctors, can also send their prescriptions into Oceanside Pharmacy by fax to have them filled by dialing 719-1940. But if a person doesn’t have that technology, there is always the old stand-by of walking into the store.
The pharmacy’s hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With her years of experience on St. Croix, Hatlelid said she is ready to serve the entire Frederiksted area.
"I know the business and I know the people," she said.
To reach Oceanside Pharmacy, call 719-1922.
