REICHHOLD TEAMS WITH NONPROFITS TO RAISE FUNDS

The Reichhold Center for the Arts has announced a Community Partnering initiative designed to assist local nonprofit organizations with fundraising efforts while fostering stronger relationships with the community.
Members of each organization would sell tickets to Reichhold performances with a percentage being donated back to their associations.
"Our aim is to fortify the Center's ties with the community on a whole," said David Edgecombe, director of the Reichhold. "We are aware of how difficult it may be to fund-raise, so we thought we could lend a helping hand in one way or another."
Recently, the V.I. Institute of Performing Arts and the Sebastien Majorettes signed on to participate in the project. Both groups are working towards STARfest 7, May 12-13 at the Reichhold Center.
"Reichhold's Community Partnering program is a step up from our previous fundraising activities," said Rose Maduro, administrator of the institute. "With the support of the public and the enthusiasm of our students, we hope to secure enough funding for equipment and supplies for the dance classes."
"We have over 70 hard-working parents and students," said Helen S. Gabriel, head of the Sebastien Majorettes. "This is a great way for us to raise funds to send some of our pupils to the mainland to compete in July."
To qualify for the Community Partnering program, groups must be certified 501C3 non-profit organizations. For more information, contact Dionne Carty at 693-1566.
Tickets for STARfest 7 are also on sale at the Reichhold Center Box Office at 693-1559 and at the following outlets: Krystal Gifts Galore (Tutu Park Mall), Modern Music (Havensight/Nisky), Parrot Fish and Connections (St. John).
