NO QUORUM FOR PORT AUTHORITY BOARD

May 3, 2001 – The agenda was in place Thursday morning, and some members were present, but, for the second time in a row, the Port Authority Board failed to muster a quorum, and the meeting in the VIPA headquarters on St. Thomas was canceled.
High on the agenda was discussion and a possible decision on the Charlotte Amalie waterfront design proposals by Paradigm Design and The Yssis Group. The board meeting room was enveloped in drawings and photographs for the companies' presentation, along with a colorful display of recycled cut glass intended for use on the waterfront pavement.
Shirley Smith, Port Authority public information officer, said the board meeting could be rescheduled as early as next week.
Board members present for the meeting were Pamela Richards, chair, Sidney Lee, Robert O'Connor Jr. and Hector Peguero. Iver Stridiron, Kent E. Bernier Sr. and Dean Plaskett were excused. Leslie Milliner was absent.
