THE COLORS OF BLACK AND WHITE, AND MORE

May 22, 2001 – Celebrating the start of the weekend has become an art form at the Color of Joy, where artwork, music, wine and cheese attract the extra essential ingredient of good company each Friday from 6 to 8 p.m..
For this week's observance, Sally Smith and any musician friends who happen to stop by will provide keyboard and vocal entertainment on the American Yacht Harbor deck outside the gallery and gift shop.
Featured currently on the walls of the gallery are recent works by St. Thomas photographer Greg Miller — black and white images mounted with his colorful, one-of-a-kind, hand-dyed fabric mats.
"For those of you who did not make it to his recent show at Chase Bank on St. John, this will be a great opportunity to see these stunning new works," gallery owner Corinne Van Rensselaer says. And for those caught up in the hot bidding for "Haitian Windward," a piece Miller donated to the recent Antilles School auction, she adds, "You can peruse his work at your leisure, and maybe even commission a piece" from the artist, who will be on hand all evening.
