RED CROSS HOSTING 'A PASSAGE TO INDIA'

May 21, 2001 — The American Red Cross St. Thomas-St. John chapter will host its second annual cultural celebration, "A Passage to India," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas Resort.
An elegant East Indian dinner will be served, complemented by the sights and sounds of India. Proceeds will go toward the local Red Cross disaster and social service programs.
"This is the first major fund raiser for our local chapter, which serves St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island, former chapter chair Vinnie Mohanani said. "I want to encourage all residents to come out for an evening of fun in an effort to raise money." He added, "Our local chapter is only as strong as the community that supports it."
Tickets are $65 in advance or $70 at the door and can be purchased at the American Red Cross offices in Nisky Center or the St. Thomas-St. Johln Chamber of Commerce offices on Main Street. For more information call 774-0375.
