DA DA TO SHOWCASE DIANE ARTWARE ARTISTS

Nov. 27, 2001 – Friday's monthly Da Da Wine Down at Cafe Amici will feature works by the staff artists at Diane Artware and the wines of Georges Duboeuf.
Diane Artware, owned by Diane Kwiecien, is a ceramic production studio in Sub Base. Decorative tiles and other clay objects are hand-painted by the artists — Kathleen Carvalho, Rob Edwards, Kathy Greene, Wendy LaFranchise, B.J. Mann, Jane Niblock, Teri Pearson, Loretta Pshsniak, Doreen Walsh and Kwiecien herself.
Each artist works independently as well and will be exhibiting works in a favored medium: miniature furniture and bird houses by Carvalho, Carnival sculptures by Greene, Christmas ornaments by Kwiecien, paint-brush characters by LaFranchise, hand-painted silks by Niblock, fanciful jewelry by Pshsniak, batik prints by Walsh, and other items by Edwards, Mann and Pearsol.
The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Riise's Alley restaurant. Bellows International is hosting the wine tasting and seminar, for which there's a $10 fee. There will be complimentary finger food, a cash bar and door prizes of artwork, wine and dining certificates. Ms. Virgin Islands Senior America, Carol Tuohy, will put in her final V.I. appearance before heading off to the national Senior America pageant in Las Vegas.
For more information, contact the restaurant at 776-5670.
