Sept. 11, 2002 – Two Coastal Zone Management hearings that had been scheduled for Thursday have been postponed for a week — one on St. Croix and the other on St. Thomas.
A meeting of the St. Thomas CZM Committee that had been scheduled for a decision on an application for a major permit sought by Botany Bay Partners for its development on the island's West End will be held instead at 4 p.m. on Sept. 19 in the CZM offices on the second floor of the Cyril E. King Airport terminal.
The session was delayed in order to give the four-member St. Thomas CZM Committee time to review new material, including a marine life report, that it asked the developers to submit.
A meeting of the St. Croix CZM Committee that had been scheduled to discuss the master plan for development by the Port Authority of a commerce and business park will instead take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the Florence Williams Library in Christiansted. No reason for the delay was cited in a VIPA news release.
Both meetings are open to the public. For further information, call 774-3320 on St. Thomas or 773-1082 on St. Croix.
