HOSPITAL PATIENT SAYS SHE WAS TREATED ROYALLY

Dear Source,
Having made St. Thomas my home for the past 36 years, I have listened to all manner of negative comment on our hospitals — from the Knud Hansen days to the current Roy L. Schneider institution.
I recently went into the RLS hospital for what I hoped would be an outpatient operation, sending me home that afternoon. Alas, the procedure proved more complex, and I spent a couple days at the hospital.
I was treated like royalty, as though I were really special. The nursing staff was caring, efficient, friendly, and, seemingly, always there. Cherise Smith of the pre-admissions office checked on me not only while I was a patient, but after I returned home to see how I was doing. And Dr. Sidney Comissiong took excellent care of me.
I say hats off and thank you to our hospital!
Molly Morris
