Aug. 29, 2003 — Nesha Christian-Hendrickson, daughter of Dr. Cora L. E. Christian and Prof. S. B. Jones-Hendrickson, was recently nominated for inclusion in "The National Dean's List, 2002-2003." Nesha is a graduate of the Class of 2000 of Country Day School.
According to the letter received by Nesha, "only 1/2 of 1 percent of the students from our nation's 3,000 colleges and universities are honored in The National Dean's List every year …" In that regard, Parke H. Davis, chairman of National Academic Affairs of "The National Dean's List," indicated that Nesha is commended "for her fine academic achievements."
Nesha's selection to "The National Dean's List" permits her to compete for one of 50 scholarships awarded by the publishing corporation, Educational Communications, Inc. (ECI), of Austin, Texas. Her selection by the ECI enables her to nominate one of her teachers whom she wishes to be honored in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," and permits her to have her biography published in "The National Dean's List."
In addition to those two publications, ECI also publishes "Who's Who Among American High School Students."
In addition to that honor, Nesha was also presented a certificate from the College of Liberal Arts of Pennsylvania State University (familiarly known as Penn State), the university that Nesha attends. In the words of the certificate: "The College of Liberal Arts presents this certificate to Nesha R. Christian-Hendrickson in recognition of Superior Academic Achievement for the Spring Semester, 2003."
Nesha has received yet another two academic honors: a scholastic honor as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and a membership in Phi Eta Sigma, a national academic honors society.
Nesha, a final year student in sociology at Penn State, currently has an average of 3.60 out of a possible 4.0 in her work. Her long-term plans are to enter the field of law with a concentration in environmental law. Law is part and parcel of the socializing codes of Nesha, who counts many family members in the field of law, including her grandfather, retired judge Alphonso Christian, and her uncle, Alphonso A. Christian, II.
