On Dec. 31, the Divine Life Family Enrichment Center will host its first annual O'Year's Night St. Croix Celebration in downtown Frederiksted. The entertainment will include performances by local jazz artists, reggae bands, steel bands, dance troupes, poets and much more. There will also be food and beverages.
Host venues for the event include Sand Castles on the Beach, Pier 69, Avalon Villa and Retreat Center, the Hibiscus Hotel, and the Blue Moon. Scheduled performers include Diane Russell, The Noels, Mario Thomas, Moko jumbies, and many more.
At midnight at the Avalon Villa there will be a soul-stirring Burning Bowl ceremony to burn away old regrets and ignite the fire of one's future.
Events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and continue to 11:30 p.m.
General admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children ages six-twelve. Children five and under are free. Admission price includes entrance to nearly all events and venues. However, there may be special events with additional admission costs.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Divine Life's newest program, The Pearls, a group home on St. Croix for abandoned and neglected adolescent girls.
