Tabor and Harmony Road Completely Closed 9-3:30

July 25, 2005 – Tabor and Harmony Road, Route 42, will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the next three to five weeks.
A release from Public Works said an attempt to restrict traffic to one lane while reconstruction work on the southbound lane to Cassi Hill was being done, failed.
George Phillips, Public Works acting commissioner, said "the narrowness of the lanes has led to closure of this segment as a measure to ensure safety in the work zone."
Phillips said, "A detour will be established through Hidden Valley with signs erected and flagmen at both intersections to facilitate the movement of traffic around the work zone." Phillips also said that heavy equipment operators should avoid the area all together by using Route 39, Donoe Road, and the Donoe Bypass, Route 40.
He said residents and emergency vehicles would have access to the closed road at all times.
The release said traffic will be controlled by automatic traffic signals and flagmen.
The release did not say if the restriction also applied to weekend days.
