Aug. 22, 2005 — Gov. Charles W. Turnbull on Monday submitted five renominations for individuals serving on three of the territorys boards, according to a press release circulated by his Public Relations office.
Yvonne Evadnie Bowsky and Marvin Pickering were both renominated for a second three-year term on the Government Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees.
June A. Adams and Francis E. Jackson Jr. were also renominated to serve on the Hospitals and Health Facilities Corporation District Governing Board for St. Thomas and St. John. Adams is currently the chairman of the board, and according to the release, has "served admirably as a member since 1998." Each term is also three years.
Turnbull additionally nominated Esther A. Smith to serve on the V.I. Board of Tax Review. Smith held the position of supervisory auditor for the Department of the Interiors Office of the Inspector General for the Caribbean before retiring. She also worked as a consultant for the Department of Health, as well as an auditing consultant for the Economic Development Authority. Once confirmed for the position, Smith will be able to serve a two-year term on the board.
All nominees will be reviewed by the Legislature.
