Pistarckle Presents Two Plays and Holds Auditions

Dec. 31, 2005 – Pistarckle Theater is looking for adults of all ages for their final production of the regular 2005-2006 season, Stinkin’ Rich.
The play is an adaptation of Moliere’s 325-year-old classic play, The Miser. It is based in New York City in the late 1920's. Performances are weekends from Feb. 16 through March 11.
Auditions for the show are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, on the third floor of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on First Avenue. (Please note these auditions are not at the theater.)
The following weekend, Pistarckle Theater opens the world premier of Queen Coziah. The production, by Eddy Donoghue, is about the St. Thomas coal carriers strike in 1892. It touches on Caribbean culture and history, and highlights non-violent protest.
Few other outlets are producing West Indian theater, and Pistarckle is privileged to bring some of the areas best theater artists here for this event. The play is directed by Felix Fleming, and choreographed by Monty Thompson.
Queen Coziah Show dates and times are as follows: Jan. 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., and Jan. 21 and 28 at 2 p.m. (Jan. 19 is the preview/pay-as-you-can night).
