Reader Warns VIWMA to do Its Homework

Dear Source:
There were issues regarding the Anguila Landfill and the V.I. government's contract with a company in Puerto Rico. Well, the Waste Management Authority better be doing their homework. The EPA is investigating and scrutinizing the landfills in Puerto Rico and the companies operating them. The EPA is even threatening to shut them down. If we end up with one of these companies, we may just end up with someone else's garbage in our landfill. They need to seriously look at recycling and other programs. A company called Waste Management (www.wm.com) is a leader throughout the United States.
