Education Announces Deadline for deCastro Fellowship

June 20, 2006 – The Morris F. deCastro Fellowship Board has announced that the deadline for applying for the Morris F. deCastro Fellowship Award is June 30.
The requirements for applicants, according to a press release from the Department of Education, are:
1) Be a bona-fide resident of the Virgin Islands.
2) Be an employee or official in active service of the V.I. government.
3) Applicant must have made an outstanding contribution during the preceding year.
4) Be accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning.
5) Be nominated by either the governor, the president of the Legislature, the presiding judge of the district or territorial courts, or the administrator of St. John or any executive department.
Interested persons should submit a letter of application and the appropriate nomination letter to the Morris F. deCastro Fellowship Board, c/o Chairman of the V.I. Board of Education, Box 11900, St. Thomas, V.I. 00801
