Sunset Jazz: Herman Lynch Sr. and the Tranquil Vibes Jazz Band

July 17, 2006 – Virgin Islands jazz fans get ready: The July 21 Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted will feature the talent of conga artist and percussionist Herman Lynch Sr. and the Tranquil Vibes Jazz Band.
Lynch learned to play steelpan as a child, performing with the Watergonians, then mastered the congas in Puerto Rico.
Joining Lynch on stage as the Tranquil Vibes Jazz Band is the queen of Virgin Islands jazz piano, the incredible Sally Smith; St. Thomas' Mr. Joe Ramsey on sax; bass man Cliff Finch; Vin Phillips on guitar; and St. Croix's Bobby Richards on drums.
The diverse musical background of this cast of musicians includes jazz, blues, soul and all genres of Caribbean music.
Sunset Jazz is one of the premier events presented by the Frederiksted Economic Development Association.
The July 21 Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted concert is, as always, a family affair; free; and running 6 to 8 p.m. at Fort Frederik Beach Park.
Folding chairs or blankets are recommended for seating. Drink concessions will be available. No coolers
