American Wins Best Overall Airline in 'LatinFinance' Readers Poll

Aug. 4, 2006 — For the 10th consecutive year, American Airlines has been voted the best overall airline by readers of "LatinFinance" and was voted best airline between the United States and Latin America/Caribbean, according to a company press release issued Friday.
According to the release, American's economy class was named best in the region, while the AAdvantage program was also named the best frequent flyer program. The report is in the magazine's June 2006 issue, in an article entitled "Best of Class." It also appears in the magazine's annual "Upgrade" corporate travel guide.
American Airlines is the largest carrier serving the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The magazine's target audience is top government and corporate officials in finance and investments in Latin America, including finance ministers, corporate and bank CEOs and CFOs and investment bankers. It has a readership of more than 30,000 and conducts an annual survey of readers who travel on business and vote for the best travel-related services in Latin America. "The Travel Poll" began in 1996, and since its inception, American has taken top honors.
"We are proud of the service we provide to Latin America and the Caribbean and are gratified that our passengers continue to select us as their best travel partner. To continue to receive the top honors shows that our continuing efforts to exceed expectations are working. We are committed to continuing to satisfy those expectations and make their travel experience an unforgettable one," said Peter Dolara, American's senior vice president for Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America.
LatinFinance readers selected American as the best airline in Latin America/Caribbean due to its extensive route system within the region, with more than 200 daily flights.
