Sept. 9, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10. This Sunday we will feature Muddy Waters, Open Book, Beau Jocque, Eva Cassidy, Natalie MacMaster and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is the "Definitive Collection" by Muddy Waters. This 2-CD set includes all the essential recordings by this artist, who is truly one of the most important and influential figures in the history of the blues.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "The Things We Keep" from folk duo Open Book, who provide wonderful harmonies and share vocal duties on this CD.
We celebrate the birthdays of guitar virtuoso Jose Feliciano, early R&B singer Roy Brown and Three Dog Night member Danny Hutton. We remember zydeco great Beau Jocque on the anniversary of his death. We also remember blues artist Clarence Gatemouth Brown on the anniversary of his death.
