Dear Source:
Rena Brodhurst might be considered a lucky lady, having been willed the AVIS by her late father and THEN having Jeffrey Prosser arrive on the shores of St. Croix, enabling her to print news that the Prosser paper chooses not to share with the public and increase her circulation. Your statement, "I am appalled that an editor of any quality would seek to use the Source to legitimize this despicable act of yellow journalism," presumes that the Editor of the AVIS is "of quality". By her actions she has shown herself to be malicious, despicable and of questionable character. Greed could certainly have been an additional motive.
Yesterday morning, at 9:45 AM, I requested that the Democratic Territorial Committee meet to consider a boycott of the AVIS. There was one yea! for my request and then at 11:41 AM, one of the "party elite" wrote "I think we need to handle this in another way. I think a public boycott would work against us while if we simply stopped buying the paper and made that fact known to the advertisers, it would be better." Work against us? NO, it would work for usDemonstrating that the Democratic Party IS a party, that it has a conscience, socially acceptable values, morals, practices and loyalty to each other and the party.
What or who is the leadership afraid of?
Please tell me where I can find a person to thank and a petition to sign!
