The 32nd V.I. Half-Marathon 'Race Against Drugs' Set for Nov. 26

Nov. 14, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Pace Runners announced that the 32nd Virgin Islands Half-Marathon — The Race Against Drugs — will be run at 6 a.m., on Sunday Nov. 26, and will start and finish at the Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino on St. Croix. The 13.1-mile east end loop course with rolling hills will be run counter-clockwise. The race registration form is available at virginislandspace.org.Awards will be presented at breakfast following the race.
In association with the race, which is also the V.I. National Championships for open and master runners, the V.I. Olympic Academy will host a seminar on performance enhancing drugs in sports from 5-7 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Divi Carina Bay Resort. This seminar is for coaches, athletes, officials and volunteers of the member federations of the V.I. Olympic Committee.
The registration fee for the race covers race entry, awards breakfast and seminar. For information contact the V.I. Pace Runners at 643-2557 or logon to the Web site above for a race registration form and special satellite photograph of the racecourse.
