Class Space Still Available at Adult Education Programs

Oct. 28, 2008 – Adults interested in obtaining a high school diploma, a basic education curriculum, GED (General Education Diploma) preparation, courses in self- improvement, vocational classes or English as a Second Language (ESL) are informed that the Virgin Islands Department of Education provides several Adult Education Program opportunities, according to a press release from Dahlia Adams, principal of the Raphael Wheatley Skill Center and VI Career & Technical Institute.
"There are still limited spaces available at the various classes, and persons thinking about improving their lot in life are encouraged to register," Adams said.
Wheatley Skill Center – VI Career & Technical Institute
GED Preparation: afternoon session: 12:10-3:10 p.m./only eight spaces are available
Vocational Education: Carpentry: 9:45-11:20 a.m. and 1:45-3:10 p.m.
Cosmetology: 8:10-9:40 a.m. (M-F); 9:45-11:20 a.m. (M-F); 12:10-1:40 p.m. (M-F); and 5:30-8:30 p.m. (M-Thu)
Adult Continuing Education at Charlotte Amalie High School
High School Diploma: 6:15-10 p.m. (M-Thu)
Self-improvement: 6:15-10 p.m. (M-Thu)
Adult Basic Education at Addelita Cancryn Junior High School
Beginning ESL: 6:30-9 p.m. (M-W)
Advanced ESL: 6:30-9 p.m. (M-W)
Adult Basic Education: 6:30-9 p.m. (M-W)
Adult Basic Education at Julius E. Sprauve School on St. John
Pre-GED: 6:15-9 p.m. (M-W)
Woodworking: 6:15-9 p.m. (Thu)
