Nov. 9, 2008 – The Vet Centers of St. Thomas and St. Croix will be celebrating Veterans Week with open houses on Wednesday, Nov. 12, on St. Thomas, and Friday, Nov. 14, on St. Croix. At both centers the event will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. On St. Thomas, the Vet Center is located in Havensight Mall, Building HI, Suite 304; and on St. Croix the office is located in the Village Mall in Barren Spot.
These centers offer individual counseling, group, family and couples therapy. Also, orientations reference to benefits, vocational and employment counseling, evaluations for sexual trauma related to military services and substance abuse referrals. They also offer community education, outreach to special populations, the brokering of services with community agencies, and provide a key access link between the veteran and other services in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Hours of services are as follows: on St. Thomas, the center is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and on St. Croix, Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
