St. Croix AWC Has Christmas 'Sandy Claws' Drive

Dec. 3, 2008 – Good little girls and boys wait for toys from Santa Claus. The animals of the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (AWC) are waiting for food, leashes, beds and, yes, toys from Sandy Claws. AWC is asking the community to play Sandy Claws and give generously this Christmas season to the homeless animals of St. Croix.
AWC is hosting a donation drive at their shelter facility at No. 32 Clifton Hill and also at their flea market facility at No. 18 Orange Grove. The shelter facility is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The flea market facility operates from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.
The animals have included the following items on their wish lists:
Cat litter, rawhide bones, dog and cat toys, raised dog beds, leashes, collars, cat beds, old newspapers, cleaning supplies, towels, metal buckets, bungee cords, garbage bags and pet shampoo.
"Our Sandy Claws drive provides much needed food and supplies for the animals," said Director of Animal Care Operations Moises Carmona. "We encourage the public to come by our shelter and see first hand the joy a visit and a gift bring to the animals, and on behalf of our staff, I want to thank the St. Croix community for their continued generosity."

The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center is a 501(c) 3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. All proceeds benefit the homeless animals supported by AWC.
