Two Men Arrested for Assault

Two men were arrested Friday on St. Thomas on separate charges of aggravated assault and battery, and aggravated assault and battery-domestic violence, according to police.

At about 3:20 a.m. Friday, officers from Zone A Command arrested Jamal Meyers and charged him with aggravated assault and battery-domestic violence. According to the police report, Meyers, a St. Croix native, was arrested in the Wheatley Shopping Center area for assaulting and injuring his girlfriend.

Bail was denied due to the charge of domestic violence and Meyers was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

Meyers’ age and place of residence were not listed by police.

A little more than an hour later, at about 4:35 a.m. officers from Zone A Command arrested Kevin G. Vincent, 32. Vincent, who lives in Estate Anna’s Retreat, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery after allegedly attacked a woman, police reported.

Vincent posted $500 bail and was released pending further court action.
