Brief: Estate Adventure Nature Trail Seeking Volunteers

St. Croix residents who have never seen the lush, green Estate Adventure Trail on St. Croix could spend part of the morning this Sunday to help enhance and maintain this wonderful community resource.
The V.I. Resource Conservation & Development Council is seeking volunteers to help complete construction of an outdoor education pavilion at the nature trail and to clear brush around newly planted trees adjacent to the Gut Restoration site.
Those up for some outdoor work and exercise can join them from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
All students seeking community service hours, teachers, hikers, birders, ecologists, researchers and St. Croix nature lovers who want to help restore and expand the trail are welcome. Please bring gloves and wear clothing suitable for working in the bush. Water, snacks and tools will be provided.
The trailhead is located just west of the Agriculture Department grounds, on the south side of Queen Mary Highway.
Contact Olasee Davis at 340-692-4053 or email Davis at: odavis@uvi.edu; or call the V.I. RC&D Office at 340-692-9632 ext. 5, email: vircd@usvircd.org for details.
