Brief: Pedestrian Killed Friday in Hit-and-Run Accident

St. Croix police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident around 7 p.m. Friday that killed a male pedestrian in his mid-60s. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

According to St. Croix Deputy Police Chief Christopher Howell, the victim was walking on the side of the road near Glass 2000 in Estate Rattan when he was stuck by a vehicle. Deputy Chief Howell said the driver fled the scene.

When police arrived on the scene they observed the unresponsive victim who was transported by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone having information on this case is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
