Brief: Buck Island Monument Closed Due to Earl Damage

St. Croix’s neighboring Buck Island Reef National Monument is closed to the public until further notice.
The closure is a result of damage assessments made after Hurricane Earl and concerns over water quality.
During the cleanup process, the U.S. National Park System will continue assessments in hopes to reopen some areas of Buck Island for visitation.
For more information, contact Lorena Harris, Chief Ranger Law Enforcement Division, at 773-1460 ext. 234 or U.S. Park Ranger Adrian Fernandez at 773-1460 ext. 247 or 250.
