Pistarckle Auditions Set for Mamet’s “American Buffalo”

Pistarckle Theater will be holding auditions for its second show of the season, David Mamet’s “American Buffalo,” from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, and from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3.
Mamet’s play is a no holds barred, hard-edged, visceral play that exposes the truth of friendship, business and greed in the strong, uncompromising language of the streets.
Don, a failing junk shop dealer, realizes he has unwittingly been suckered into selling a rare coin to a wealthy customer for a pittance. He and his young assistant, Bob, set out to seek revenge by stealing the man’s priceless coin collection. Teach, a seedy, sometime friend, catches wind of the plot and butts his way into the caper, causing an explosive situation where only two will be left standing.
American Buffalo’s cast requires three male actors: Don (mid 50s to mid 60s), a tough-nailed junk dealer; Bob (young to mid 20s), Don’s naive and unseasoned employee; and Teach (early 30s to early 40s), a small time, edgy crook.
