19-Year-Old Gunshot Victim Dies

A young man who walked into the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital on Monday suffering from a gunshot wound died Tuesday morning from his injuries, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified as 19-year-old Lenn Williams.

It was the seventh homicide on St. Croix since the start of the year, the 17th in the territory.

Police were notified of the gunshot victim at about 11:45 p.m. Monday. When they arrived at the hospital officers were told that the victim was in surgery and being treated for a wound to his abdomen.

Police said they were notified after 2 a.m. Tuesday that the victim had died from his injuries. Police are seeking information on this shooting.

Detectives urged anyone with information about the murder to call them at 1-340-712-6030 or 1-340-712-6077, the emergency 911 center or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. Informants can also text their information by sending “USVI” plus the message to CRIMES or 274637.
