Driver Wounded by Shots from Passing Car

A man who left work early Friday morning told the V.I. Police Department that someone in a car followed him and shot him several times.

Officers are investigating the case.

According to preliminary reports, 33-year-old man, whose name was not released by the police, said he left work at about 2 a.m. Friday. As he was passing Mandela Circle he noticed a grey SUV driving behind him. As he drove up Raphune Hill the vehicle was still behind him so he pulled to the side by the garbage bins so the person could drive past.

As the car passed someone inside started shooting at him, the victim said.

The victim was struck in the right arm and grazed on his left arm and back by gunfire. He was treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center and released, according to medical staff.
