George Emanuel Powell of Estate Hannah’s Rest died on July 15. He was 92 years old.
He is survived by wife, Gertrude Powell; daughters: Hazell Powell-Massey and Dawn Powell; son, Howard Powell; grandchildren: Raymond, Clayton, Deshawn and Kema Powell, Lewanda Powell-James, Isaac, Antonio, Khalil and Kharon McKenley, Jordan Massey, Isis Edney, Sajada Nader and Rasijah Stanley; great-grandchildren: Rayvon, Analia and Madison Powell, Ricky Williams and Peter "PJ" James; special niece, Jenine Brown; special nephew, Machai Brunson; sons-in-law, Stephen Maloney and James Massey; brother-in-law, Iva Brown; sisters-in-law: Eunie Brown, Rosita Daniel, Gloria Rogers, Pearline Sargeant and Gene Jackson; special friends: William and Melvina Ryan, Oneca Glasglow (CNA caretaker), the Gumbs, Berley and Wallace families, and the Frederiksted Wesleyan Holiness Church family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Midland Wesleyan Holiness Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
