Update on Telephone Lines Down at Legislature

The V.I. Legislature’s Capitol Building on St. Thomas is experiencing an interruption in telephone service due to equipment issues at Innovative. In an effort to maintain open lines of communication between the public and members and staff of the Legislature, the following temporary measures are being used:
• Calls can now be made to the 30th Legislature, with some maneuvering, according to Management Information Systems (MIS) Director Robby O’Neal.
• O’Neal said Tuesday, that calls could be routed to the Capitol building by calling the Legislative Annex at 774-2478 on St. Thomas. Any calls to the Legislature’s primary line, 774-0880, will be forwarded to St. Croix.
External calls from the Legislature’s main building have been disabled due to a down T1 at Innovative, said Linda Miller, assistant director of MIS in a memorandum released Monday.
This issue at Innovative is affecting many local businesses between Agnes Fancy and the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, according to Miller. Officials are asking for patience as Innovative works to resolve this issue.
