On Dec. 31, Quanè Jelani Richards died in Florida. He was 20 years old.
He is survived by his parents: Jessica Richards-Daley, Gingo Olivieri Sr. and Alfred Daley Sr.; grandmothers: Cecile Thomas-Richards and Shela Smith Liburd; Grandfathers: Jesse Richards Sr. and Hector Olivieri Torres; step-grandmothers: Shirley Robinson and Hilda Olivieri; brothers: Alfred Daley III, Sean Richards-Daley and Gingo R. Olivieri Jr.; sisters: Shamika Francis, Lydia Olivieri and G’lique Olivieri; aunts: Jessima Richards, Amelinda Olivieri, Ashana and Keewana Powell; uncles: Jesse Jr., Juriel and Jeremeih Richards, and Edwaldo, Juan, Felipe, Felix and Julio Olivieri; great aunts: Sharon Richards, Elsie Thomas-Trotman, Carolyn D. Thomas, Carolyn A Thomas and Lydia Thomas-Brow; and great uncles: Earle Richards Sr., Philip Jackson, Carl Powell Sr. and Noel Boynes Sr.
He is also survived by cousins: Jah-Kobi, Jaden, Justin, Jayson, Jazmyn, Rielle and Leilani Richards, Giamma Groff, Felicia, Dante, Adrianna, Felisa, Felix Jr., Feliciano, Feliscia, Khalil, Siyolo, Juan Jr., Jahnia, Jahquan, Edwin, Edwaldo Jr, Trinia, Hector III, Ricardo, Jovante, Julio Jr., and Jaheim Olivier.
Other survivors include niece, A’maiya Olivieri; nephews: A’moy Olivieri and Darwin R. Perry Jr.; godparents: Rudolph “Umba” Brathwaite, Germaine Liburd, Preston Evans, Liston “Wadaa” Powell, Veronica O’Brien-Powell, Patsy Penn, Blondell Taylor-Alexis and Mallecia Hood; god-brothers: Juan Olivieri Jr. and Mekhi Thomas; and many more family members too numerous to name.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing at Celestial Chapel at Hurley Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15.
The second viewing will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cruz Bay, St. John. Interment will be in the Cruz Bay Cemetery.
