Police Names Two ‘Persons of Interest’ in New Years Day Homicide

The Criminal Investigations Bureau is looking for two persons of interest in the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Joseph O. Brow at Mount Pleasant West, Frederiksted, in the territory’s first homicide of the new year, the V.I. Police Department announced.

The two men sought by police, and their descriptions, are:

Jahkim Santiago, 27 years old. He stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weights about 165 pounds, has long brown hair, brown eyes, light facial hair and light complexion.

Kahlid Wilson, also known as “Jahlil James,” 27 years old. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weights about 170 pounds, has a “medium build, brown skin, with medium short black hair and facial hair.

According to police, Brow was killed early on the morning of Jan 1. At about 5:46 a.m. Tuesday the 911 call center received multiple reports of shots being fired in the Mount Pleasant area of Frederiksted, in the vicinity of the Coconut Bar.

Arriving at the scene, officers learned that a gunshot victim, later identified as Brow, had been transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by private vehicle. Brow had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and died of his injuries, according to police.

Police asked anyone who has seen or come in contact with either of these individuals to call the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 340 778 2211, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS.)

Tips to Crime Stoppers that result in the resolution of a case can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
