Two masked gunmen forced their way into a Havensight bar early Sunday and took about $1,500 in cash, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the VIPD, the 911 dispatch received a call at about 4:43 a.m. Sunday reporting that an armed robbery had just occurred at the Tap and Still in Havensight. Patrol officers and detectives from Criminal Investigations Bureau traveled to the location.
At the scene victims told they officers that after closing the business they were outside talking, and had to re-enter the building. While re-entering the business two masked men came from the area of the bar “The Hut,” located at the entrance to Havensight, each carrying a gun. They forced the victims into the Tap and Still.
Inside, one victim was forced to the cash registers where a suspect took approximately $1000 dollars from both the cash drawers.
The victim said the suspect also took approximately $500 from him.
The victims said the suspects ran to a vehicle that was in the street waiting for them and fled the area. No injuries were reported during the incident.
