The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands has received $100,000 from Kym Rapier, a longtime philanthropist and cancer survivor. Recognizing the many challenges that cancer patients across the U.S. Virgin Islands experience when faced with such a devastating diagnosis, Kym’s Angels recently committed this generous donation to the Cancer Support Virgin Islands Fund at CFVI. Cancer Support Virgin Islands is an organization dedicated to helping patients get the care they need to fight their battle with cancer.

“Thanks to generous donations like this, V.I. cancer patients can access financial support and care to help them manage the challenges that impact their entire family when they are diagnosed,” said CFVI President Dee Baecher-Brown. “We would not be able to help without the amazing support of people like Kym.”

Rapier is a dedicated philanthropist who seeks to inspire a giving spirit in others. Whether the donation is monetary or the contribution of a few hours of someone’s time, she believes that each of us can make a difference. Rapier said, “Giving in any way should be contagious. Once one person does it, hopefully, everybody will hop in.”
