Business Conference Planned for March 17: ‘Path to Prosperity’ on UVI St. Croix Campus

Path to Prosperity

Join the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in collaboration with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as they host two Path to Prosperity activities, “Path to Prosperity Lenders Matchmaking Event” and “Path to Prosperity Regional Series U.S. Virgin Islands.” They will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, March 17, at the UVI Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix.

This event will provide useful information, tools and resources for small businesses and for attendees an opportunity to engage in dynamic discussions intended to create economic progress.

Training Topics: Business Financing, Managing a Business, Small Disadvantaged Businesses

Participating agencies: United States Small Business Administration (USSBA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Small Business and Development Center (VI SBDC), the United States Department of Transportation, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), and financial institutions, among other organizations and entities.

Wayne L. Biggs Jr., chief executive officer, VIEDA

Monique T. Samuel, director of Lending, Economic Development Bank, VIEDA

*Samuel will be a panelist in the stead of Rosa C. Thomas, assistant chief executive officer, VIEDA

Who should attend: Financial institutions, CDFIs, government, trade groups, local entrepreneurs and small businesses along with community- and faith-based organizations who are interested in partnership and resource opportunities to support small businesses all across the territory. This activity is also open to the general public.
