New Federal Violence/ Domestic Violence Shelter and Support Service Programs Funding Availability From VIDHS

Virgin Islands Department of Human Services

The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services announces the FY 2023 Family Violence Prevention Services / Domestic Violence Shelter and Support Services Funding Opportunity for eligible non-profit and nongovernmental organizations and domestic violence service providers. Funding is made available through the U.S. Department of Health and Humans Services Administration of Children and Families Family Violence Prevention Services Act S303.

The purpose of the Family Violence Prevention Services funds is to support the maintenance and expansion of programs providing shelter and related help to victims of domestic violence, family violence and their dependent children.

Services and related assistance may include:

  1. Emergency Shelter
  2. Support Services

Please request an application from Kendall Tutein, director of Nonprofits and Support Services; email kendall.tutein@dhs.vi.gov with the subject titled: FY2023 FVPSA CORE PROGRAM PROPOSAL or visit the Department of Human Services office on St. Thomas at the Knud Hansen Complex at Hospital Ground or 3012 Golden Rock on St. Croix. People may also call 718-2980 (St. Croix) or 774-0930 (St. Thomas) for further information. The deadline for submission of proposals electronically or by drop-off is Aug. 14.

Eligible Applicants: Nonprofit agencies providing domestic violence services that can meet all requirements to execute a Notice of Grant Award.
